Sweet potato curiosities

The sweet potato is a characteristic tuber for its sweet taste. It is a product that is used mainly to prepare desserts, although it is increasing its presence in salty dishes.
Its origin of warmer regions of Latin America, and in the XV century it was introduced in Europe by Christopher Columbus. At present, China is the country with the highest production index worldwide, being used mainly for animal feed.
It can be cooked roasted with skin, cooked, used for stews or as a substitute for the potato in fried and pureed. Likewise, and in the elaboration of desserts, it is used mainly for cakes, jams, sweets or compotes.
