The braided bread is a traditional staple in Greek and Jewish cuisine, it has variants like sweetness, adding seeds and different textures. We share with you a classic version resulting in a delicious and satisfying bread.
500 g of flour
1 tablespoon oil
3 g instant baker's yeast
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vinegar
1 teaspoon of sugar
220 g of water
Mix all the ingredients and let stand for about 30 minutes. Knead until achieving a moist and elastic dough.
Cover and let stand for 2 hours until dough has doubled in size.
Divide the dough into six equal parts, roll into balls and let stand for an additional 15 minutes.
Flattened each ball and form a long cylinder, about 20 cm. Take 3 cylinders and braid, the same with the other three. Let it rise again, brush with egg, sprinkle with sesame seeds and bake at 180 ° C for 40 minutes.
