Coconut milk

Coconut milk is a product made from crushed coconut pulp. We can find it in food stores as a packaged product. Its applications in the kitchen are very varied, it can be used in the preparation of meats, fish, seafood, soups, vegetables, desserts, vegetable drinks and cocktails.

In addition, coconut milk can be consumed by people who are lactose intolerant as a substitute for cream and butter.


Many countries such as Colombia, Venezuela, Panama, Indonesia, Malaysia or Thailand use coconut milk in the preparation of very traditional dishes and linked to their culinary culture. Coconut milk can be used, for example, in the preparation of Indian curry, chicken tikka masala, or in a “sancocho” a fish soup.

In regards to its health properties, we can highlight that coconut milk is rich in:

-Vitamins B1, B2, B3, B5 and B6

-Minerals such as magnesium, phosphorus and calcium

-Hydrates of carbon

-Polyunsaturated and saturated fats

Coconut milk has the following health benefits:
