Organic food vs conventional

Organic food vs conventional

Organic foods are healthier. This is demonstrated by research conducted by an international team of experts led by the University of Newcastle. Cultivated or bred in a natural way, without chemicals or pesticides, who defend organic products ensure that they are healthier. Its production process is also slower and requires more care, which makes the final price more expensive.

The study has already been published in the scientific journal British Journal of Nutrition. They ensure that organic foods are more nutritious and beneficial for our health. It is proven that they have a higher concentration of antioxidants (up to 60% more than conventional) and less toxic waste (up to 50% lower).

Consuming fruits, vegetables or cereals grown with ecological systems is equivalent, according to this research, to take one or two more servings of fruits and vegetables a day. As for the harmful substances that we ingest in conventional foods, the presence of cadmium in organic products is reduced by half. Other substances such as nitrogen (10%), nitrates (30%) or nitrites (87%) are also much lower in organic foods.
