The peach: health benefits

The peach comes from China, Iran and Afghanistan, spread by the West in the hands of the Romans. Its season includes the months of May, June, July, August and September.


The peaches are characterized by velvety skin, yellow flesh and sweet taste. It is a food rich in water (86%), fiber, carbohydrates, vitamins A, C, B1, B2, B6 and minerals.

This fruit stands out for its high content in carotenes, becoming a very beneficial food:

  • in the protection of stomach cancer
  • as anti-oxidant
  • for eye care
  • to moisturize the skin
 

But this is not all. The peach:

  • facilitates digestion
  • helps to lose weight
  • strengthens the immune system
  • prevents dandruff
  • improves heart function
  • promotes the strengthening of bones
 

Their applications in the kitchen are very varied, they are used in the preparation of marmalade, sorbets, shakes, ice cream, or in syrup.
