The Atlántica Gastronómica A Coruña Fair has changed the dates and structure for its 4-day Gastronomy showcase, scheduled, May 31st, until June 3rd, 2019 at the Explanada do Parrote and Palexco
Atlántica Gastronómica A Coruña will have two segments; Atlántica Gastronómica Festival that will be held on May 31st, June 1st and 2nd, 2019 at the Esplanade do Parrote and Atlántica Gastronómica for Professionals on June 2nd and 3rd, 2019 at Palexco.
The format of this main event will be a pioneer within the gastronomy sector in Spain. Combining a professional event which includes a congress-fair and a gastro-festival for the general public. Together, they will have a total area of more than 25,000 m2 for the enhancement and promotion of Atlantic cuisine.
The Organizing Committee made up of experts from all areas of Galician gastronomy and by the company from A Coruña, Viajes Gastronómicos, S.L. (Grupo Menús), believes that this modification of the dates will allow for visitors to enjoy the outdoor Atlantic air.
Atlántica Gastronómica Professional will include a complete program of showcooking, tastings, dialogue and several activities by prominent individuals from the local, national and international scene. These activities will be designed for visitors to experience the quality of local products with Guarantee of origin and traditional Galician cuisine. Likewise, it aims to provide visibility to all those producers who are committed to the excellence of Galicia's raw materials and their Atlantic diet, positioning the product as the central focus of the event.
One of the most anticipated events is the international meeting of traditional cuisine of the Atlantic bloc, in which invited countries such as Mexico, Guatemala, Argentina, and Portugal will be present.
The event will also welcome the first grill contest to be held in Galicia and the creation of a workshop that aims to become a competitive motivator in the socioeconomic development of the rural environment. These platforms provide small producers the opportunity to establish commercial relationships with agents and importers of national and international origin.
Atlántica Gastronómica Festival, intends to propel Atlantic cuisine while turning the city into a platform for the promotion of Galicia's gastronomy and at the same time positioning A Coruña as an authority in Gastronomy Tourism.
All the activities that will be carried out in the Esplanade do Parrote will be free of charge.
In order to bring Atlantica Gastronómica to the city and as a result of its continued commitment for the creation of wealth and employment in A Coruña, a variety of activities will be carried out under the umbrella of Atlántica#naCidade. Celebrations will be taking place twelve weeks prior to the main event in establishments and public spaces of A Coruña, with the intention of establishing themselves continuously in the city, whilst creating an ecosystem of collaboration between the tourist sector alongside regional food and wine sectors.
