The World's 50 Best Restaurants, sponsored by S.Pellegrino & Acqua Panna, will hold its 2022 restaurant awards ceremony in Moscow, Russia, in July 2022.
In 2021, the World’s 50 Best Restaurants held the first in-person awards programme since 2019, and with plans already in place for 2022, the resilience and optimism of the industry are ever more tangible.
William Drew, director of content for The World’s 50 Best Restaurants, said: “With the international restaurant scene gathering pace once again, we are thrilled to announce Moscow as the host destination of The World’s 50 Best Restaurants 2022 this coming July. Following the successful return our live awards programme in 2021, we have no doubt that the 2022 event programme will allow the global gastronomic community to reconnect once more in person and celebrate the indomitable spirit of the hospitality sector on an even greater scale.”
Moscow also makes a fitting choice having been awarded its first-ever Michelin stars this year, with the publication of the Michelin Guide to Moscow 2022, in which seven restaurants were given one star and two restaurants received two stars (Artest - Chef's Table and Twins Garden).
While the awards ceremony will take place next July in the Russian capital, other warm-up event events will be staged ahead of the ceremony, including thought-leadership forum #50BestTalks and the Chefs’ Feast. The exact location and date of the ceremony are yet to be announced.
